First
Not first your brand, your comfort, your growth plan, or the wisdom of this world. First His kingdom and His righteousness. Everything else is either added by Him or it is a rival.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Second
The world catechizes you whether you notice or not. So does inherited religion. The answer is not a louder opinion. It is a renewed mind and a daily return to the text.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.

Inherited teaching
Name it honestly. Then test it. None of this is released because it feels outdated. It is released when it cannot survive the Bible.
What a denomination, a conference, or a favorite teacher said became the rule. The verse was quoted to prove the system, not to test it.

Charisma, platform, and following stood in for faithfulness. If the room was full, the teaching was assumed to be true.

The same two first things, spoken to three rooms that were catechized differently.
First
What you were taught
You were handed a version of the faith — family, church, school, internet — and told that questioning it was rebellion.
What Scripture says
Biblical truth is not inherited. It is received, tested, and obeyed. The Word is living. It does not need a middleman to remain true.
Where to start
Open the text yourself today. Read a whole book, slowly. Ask what it says before you ask what anyone else said about it.
Second
What you were taught
You were trained to grow the room, protect the brand, and keep people comfortable. Faithfulness was confused with attendance, giving, and polish.
What Scripture says
Scripture measures shepherds by the Word they handle, the people they feed, and the example they set — not by the metrics a conference sold you.
Where to start
Put the text back in the center of the work. Teach what it says. Refuse to baptize a method just because it fills a room.
Third
What you were taught
You were told a business is a machine that runs on hustle, leverage, and the wisdom of this age — and that God is a Sunday add-on.
What Scripture says
Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Seeking first the kingdom is not a slogan. Building without God always ends in collapse.
Where to start
Name the Lord as the builder before you name the plan. Read Scripture daily. Submit the work, the money, and the ambition to Him.

No. The church is Christ's body. What we resist is inherited teaching that was never tested against the Bible. A faithful church opens the text, shepherds people, and refuses to treat tradition, personality, or culture as if they were Scripture.
Read a translation you will actually finish. A readable modern translation (ESV, CSB, NIV, NLT) is enough to begin. Compare a second translation when a verse is doing heavy work. The point is daily reading, not winning an argument about a rendering.
